CROSS BORDER TOUR
Nepal is a gateway to adventures in Tibet, Bhutan, Darjeeling and Sikkim. These lands are easily accessible through Nepal. They may be explored on culture tours as well as on treks into their extraordinary landscapes.

Tibet
For centuries this ancient land has remained secluded and forbidden to outsiders. Only since the 1980’s was this mysterious high plateau opened to the world. Its awesome landscapes, huge mountains, rivers and lakes are almost overwhelming.

Even today Tibet's past grandeur, magic and mystery remains undiminished. Nomads herd their yaks, pilgrims worship at sacred shrines and sites. The vast, striking and breathtaking Himalayan landscape is as it ever was.

Bhutan
Bhutan is often revered as the ‘Land of the Peaceful Dragon’. It is still regarded as a Shangri-La in the Himalayan region. This is because of its remoteness, spectacular mountain terrain, and its exotic flora and fauna. Above all the ancient Buddhist monasteries provide a timeless mystery to the scene. It is one of the least explored parts of Asia, allowing entry only to a few visitors.

Darjeeling & Sikkim
Darjeeling in northeast India, provides the perfect ambiance of a hill resort. It has a mild climate and relaxing charm. Its fertile colourful hills and valleys are interspersed with stretches of lush green tea gardens. Darjeeling borders with Sikkim in the north, Nepal in the west and Bhutan in the east. Darjeeling town, Kalimpong and Kurseong are the major urban centres. Heavily influenced by British India, Darjeeling still carries imprints of its colonial past. The toy train is one of the most striking examples of Darjeeling's British Raj influence.

Just over the border lies the tiny state of Sikkim, otherwise known as 'The Garden State'. This is because of its spectacular flora and fauna and abundant flower nurseries. It’s a land of extraordinary beauty. The setting is soaring mountains, plunging rivers and lush tropical forests. All is brilliant with flowers, birds and butterflies. The hills are decorated with terraced fields, simple villages on stilts and colourful temples and monasteries. Sikkim is an untouched timeless land whose smiling people offer unforgettable friendliness.
