A building renovated and converted into a Nepalese restaurant - Bhojan Griha
An elegant old house in Kathmandu that was about to be demolished, has now instead been renovated and converted into a beautiful exclusive Nepalese restaurant, Bhojan Griha, meaning House of Food. The renovation and construction of the building was entirely undertaken with local materials and skills. Local artisans and craftmans were employed to maintain the traditionality of the building. One of the main aims of restoring this old building into Bhojan Griha was to put pressure on the government to introduce laws to protect old buildings in Nepal.
At Bhojan Griha whilst enjoying the traditional Nepali architecture and delicious organic Nepali food, guests can also enjoy local folk dances and songs that are performed live at the restaurant.
